Can you open the swing gate with the rack/bikes on?

No you can not with out removal only down fall but rack only weighs 35lbs

Thinking about ordering the Thule Apex Swing. How long of an extension did you need? Do you like the Apex?

I've got the 5 bike version...yeah it was about 1/2" from fitting. Bought the shortest extender I could find. Etrailer had an 8" for cheap.

Thinking about ordering the Thule Apex Swing. How long of an extension did you need? Do you like the Apex?

Don’t remember the exact length (8-12”). Got it at local uHaul. You will also need to get an anti rattle/sway thing to secure the hitch extender.
