Here is my tire mounted version. Works fine for my bike, gets me out and back for a ride quickly, and fits into the garage as is.

I would not take the Rubi off-road with the bike mounted, but I think pavement driving does not induce too much stress on the spare mount.

Did you have to pull off the spare tire to raise the rear light for mounting?

My ISI bike rack showed up 4 weeks before my JL was delivered but now that I have both here are pictures of it installed with our mountain bikes. I’ve used it on my JK as well hauling road bikes in the last few weeks and this is a rock solid rack. Being designed for use off road I feel extremely confident on any terrain with this. The rack and bikes simple do not move once all are tightened down.

What a great option, appears preferable to Kuat and UpUSA. No swivel addition necessary and snug against the wrangler.

The pivot base I have is the extended one that has 5 pin locations. What I have it set at here is the first one so I can extend it out another 6-8 inches or so for when I want to carry my trasharoo bag on my spare tire. Only $420 but is just over 200 shipping as they are located in Australia. Check them out here http://www.isi-carriers.com/index.html

Yes, you need to unscrew four bolts you can only get to by taking the spare off. Then raise the light and screw two of them back in.

I ordered the 2" Super Duty Double from 1UP-USA for my and my wife's bikes. $666 for the rack, two locks, trailer hitch lock and extender whew! :piggybank::piggybank::piggybank:

I wanted to buy once, cry once as they say. I'm interested in how small it packs down when not in use and how easy it is to take on and off as we're not going to keep the rack on the Jeep when not using the bikes.

I'll update everyone once it arrives and goes on the Jeep.

I bought the Yakima BackSwing
Screenshot_20180524-110455_Chrome.jpg

I didn't need to bend anything to get it to work. I think it has a longer extension piece that goes in the hitch. I'll take pictures of it later. The lever actually fully clears my 315-70-17 ko2. I can almost fully open the swing gate. It does rub a bit when doing so though on my jlur. If the tire were any taller, it may not clear. If going bigger you'd probably need a spare mount adapter to raise it some. I may still get an adapter just so it doesn't rub at all. Here is link

I’m thinking about using this with my 1up rack. I have the same size tire in the ridge grappler with the mopar relocation that brings the tire up. But my spare sticks out quite a bit. Can you fully open the tailgate with bikes loaded with that pivot??

Does the rack lock on to the wheel? Looks like the perfect option if so.

Keep the box that the rack comes in, and just put it back in the box when you're not using it. That's about as compact as it gets. It takes me about 2 to 3 minutes to take the rack off or put it on. To put it in the box, the trays have to be folded up, so call it 3 to 5 minutes to put the rack in the box. I usually just leave my rack on all summer except for when it's occasionally necessary to take it off for some tougher offroading where departure angles are important, or to take the Jeep through a car wash.

So was this challenging to order for USA? As far as I can tell it’s Australia made and shipping options are AU.

Not too bad, I sent them an email and “George” responded after a day or two. We then spent another week emailing back and forth on measurements and what configuration would work best for my set up. They have a set USA price of $745 shipped to your door as well. I know this is on the high side in regards to price but I’m telling you the bikes are held up high, are rock solid once mounted. In addition, the ability to both move the pivot base out more to allow for my trasharoo bag on the spare tire and the ability to fold the rack with bikes down to access the tailgate are both huge assets. Once all was agreed upon it was only three days to ship to my door in Wisconsin as well.

Let me know if you want/need more info or pictures of my set up. In the UK right now so away from the Jeep but should be home by the 12th.
