Does anyone know what are the biggest tires I can fit on a Rubicon without rubbing?

It is difficult to say right now since the platform is relatively new.

Several members have put on 315/70R17 tires and off roaded disconnected with no rubbing. Other have put on 35/12.5R17 and rubbed without disconnecting.

Another thing to consider is the rear tire carrier. My dealer (Koons) put 35s on a JL with a 2" lift. They fit the vehicle fine but the one on the carrier rubs the rear bumper when you open or close the rear gate.

It sounds like there's some kind of a steering issued involved. Maybe still too early for me to do this.

I believe the Rubicon can have 17" or 18" stock wheels. Are the stock tires 33s either way?

Rubicons only come with 17" and they are 33" stock. You can definitely run 35s without rubbing.

The Rubicon has 285/70R17 tires stock. These are 17" rims and just shy of a 33" tire (33.7x11.2).

What issues can arise putting bigger tires on besides rubbing? Incorrect speedometer I think? The thread linked to above mentioned some kind of steering issue.

44" TSL Thornbirds fit nice! No lift! minor trimming...
I’m not so much worried about the 42’s as much as the thornturds. They’ll bolt right up!
