Fellow Jeepers,

What hitch mount bike rack/carrier to you use? In the market for one that holds two, maybe 3 bicycles, and clears the spare tire.

Which one do you use and/or recommend?

It's too bad Jeep does not make one...

Thanks,
Blake

Just bought one from Harbor Freight 30 bucks. I need to buy a hitch extension though.

Just about anyone will work if you get a simple “hitch extension “. That is what I did. No problems/works great.

I bought a RockyMounts MonoRail a year or so ago while I waited for the QuikRack to be released. It turned out to be pretty nice and I am still using it.

I don’t have experience with these but..... this one folds down and (supposedly) allows the tailgate to swing.

I bought one of those as well. It’s not bad, I know there are better though but the prices on these are crazy. It “folds down” to allow the rear gate to open. The bikes are secure on it, and really don’t need anything pricier. Our bikes are basic, and just casual riders.

I use a Rocky Mounts Monorail with a Kuat Pivot. Not cheap, but also not the most expensive route to go. I needed a platform rack that doesn't touch the frame for carbon fiber bikes.
