I was dead set on ordering and buying the jlu rubicon (recon) or whatever the top trim.

But starting to think i should order then lease, i could buy at the end of lease and eat maybe $1500-2000 in wssted fees, but if it has year 1 problems i could get out and buy a 2020.

Thoughts?

To get in and enjoy it? Great for sure. The used JL value will be damn close to the new cost - so a lease won't be much. Then buy a 2nd or 3rd year JL and have at it without the first year model bugs to worry about.

I have a 2017 jku 75th anniversary edition and a 2016 300s, the jlu looks to add all the toys and gadgets of my 300.

The jlu seems a perfect blend, but the 1st year run concerns me.

Lease rates for new models are usually :asshat:

You will most likely be better off buying the first year and just selling or trading it in for a MY 3 or 4.
