My passenger side clamp (I'm in the UK so I'm the other way round!) is looser than the drivers side.
I'm always tempted to adjust but there are absolutely no leaks even in the driving rain so I'm going to leave them well alone!

That was exactly my take. If it ain't broke...

I had to adjust the latches on mine to get a more even clamping between both sides, my OCD demanded it, the factory latch points have maybe 1/2” of total movement.
