Honestly as much as we use Amazon in our house, I'd be apt to pay $50 a month. I mean shipping alone would be probably sextuple that if not more every month.

I've occasionally decided to forgo purchasing a particular widget, if FedEx is the vendor's sole shipper and I can't reasonably source the widget elsewhere. It's no exaggeration to say that it's a relief just to receive an order that still in one piece, so to speak, from that particular carrier.

I've used Amazon's Free Shipping option to the extent possible for a good number of years now. I'd wager that by doing so, I've saved enough $$ to pay for the annual Prime subscription probably 2 or 3 times over.

I'm actually waiting for some Milwaukee M12 items from Amazon right now. They're due Saturday, whereas using the paid shipping option would have only accelerated the delivery date by maybe 2 calendar days.

If we're honest, I'd say the matter of shipping speed mirrors that of things like heated steering wheels and Adaptive Cruise in our Jeeps: convenience notwithstanding, virtually everyone is in Want, not Need.

Yea they just want someone to be angry at, there is no point in trying to reason with them.

Nobody's angry, just not sure how y'all have conflicting information between multiple people who all supposedly have years experience mailing stuff.

Again, I'm basing my information on actual experience, in a non-business setting.

I understand businesses have contracts and all sorts of other things at play including staff to pay for shipping and receiving.

However like someone above stated, a simple shipping and handling tag would be nice. To say that shipping is $15 is absolutely preposterous.

if you put the straps in a manilla envelope, theres a good chance it will get torn apart in shipping and the items lost. unless you wrap the shit out of in packaging tape.

That's why they make bubble wrap envelopes, and they aren't that easy to tear up, let me tell you that.

Speaking of which, I had a friend mail me a graphics card which is currently inside my tower PC, he mailed it with a little bit of plastic around it and slid into a bubble wrap Manila envelope, which I paid for shipping, it was under $8. That graphics card is working just fine, and the manila envelope arrived untorn after traveling a few hundred miles.


Seems to me like some people just want to be right and don't care about the truth.

So you're saying that this whole thread would not have been necessary if Bestop had just added the words "and Handling" to the $15 charge?
If it doesn't specially say shipping "and handling" do you figure that the items must ship themselves?

I just paid $13.33 to ship a $28 mast antenna. I misplaced my stock antenna and lease return. Oops. Oh well.

Well, I made my own straps. I bought a spool of 1" strap and a snap kit. I went ahead and made 4 of them to replace all of the old ones, as they were getting older.

16 bucks. And I have enough material to probably make 20 of them. The mesh bikini top is on and ready for summer!
