I mean just lower the top down, if your headed to the beach I'm assuming the weather is nice.Take it off.
that would get featured on kook of the day for sure.
Nope I have a car seat back there.I’ve seen plenty of people use soft racks with the soft top - even with the soft top down.
Personally, I just fold my seats down and throw my boards in the back, but I assume that’s not an option for you?
Yeah that’s what I was thinking.Drop the top,
Lay foam on the B and C roll bar and strap it down, couldn't be easier.

I like thatMight these be suitable? It's something I have been interested in but can't find a ton of people that use them. From what I understand you would need to use them with the top down which may or may not be a problem

That's cool Dan. My only concern is if, like in my locale, that gear extends more than 4' behind the rear (making it street illegal).
The OP was asking about a surfboard. it's unlikely a surfboard would surpase 4feet past the rear of the jeep. A SUP might, but that's a different problem. That's cool Dan. My only concern is if, like in my locale, that gear extends more than 4' behind the rear (making it street illegal).
Another solution along a similar vein is the Darby Extend-A-Truck.
It's downside is that it requires both front and back hitches, in addition to the purchase of two Darby Extend-A-Trucks.
