So I have a 2019 sport 2 door with the most basic Uconnect I think 5inch, I don't have the climate control panel with the volume knob, I have the more basic one.

I am wanting to upgrade to a better receiver that has with apple car play. I really like the Insane Audio and the Stinger 10 but they are expensive and have more than I need for my daily driver. Has anyone had success in finding a good plug and play receiver that wont cost upwards of $1.5k?
For instance a pioneer, JVC, Sony etc?

I just ordered a Rubicon and even though the 8.4 is now standard, I intend to replace it with a Pioneer 4660NEX with the AXPIO-JL1 kit from Metra. The Metra kit is pre-wired and proprietary with Pioneer only and I have had good experience in the past with Pioneer in my JK. The other option is the Maestro WJL1. The Metra kit comes with a replacement camera and the Maestro does not. The factory camera will not work with the Maestro or the Metra. However, the Maestro will work with other shallow chassis double din HU's from Kenwood, JVC, Alpine and Sony. The adapters are about $300. I have only been shopping Pioneer and the compatible HU's are around $600 and up. Not cheap but a lot less expensive than Alpine, Insane, or the Heigh 10. If you like Pioneer, the Metra kit is complete plug and play. Here is the link to see what HU's are compatible with Maestro

is the only place that seems to have the WJL1 available as of this time. Camera's are available from Amazon that will work and they aren't that expensive. Hope this helps.
