As long as it is API SN Plus, it will work.

Search this .pdf. it is an addendum to the MS-13340 spec.

Called And emailed Mobil. They do not have an oil that meets our turbo requirements. So Mobil 1 is out. DO NOT USE! Also contacted Castrol to see if Syntec met requirements.. was told not at this time. Contacted Pennzoil. Their Platinum does meet requirements and the has a notification on the container saying that it has been redesigned to meet turbo requirements. Their Platinum Ultra does not. Oil must meet MS-13340. I had to actually educate our local Jeep dealer. Also our motor takes 5 quarts.
The full synthetic Mobil that I get does have the additive package and certifications that are specifically recommended in the owners manual. Possible that they were referencing their regular fossil oil?

Having used the 0w-40 in my 392...Pennzoil UP is a clean oil (Also considering DI intake deposits) being derived from natural gas. I’ll be trying this ...and stock filter.

Thanks for the info and link, looks like a great product. I haven't ordered my Jeep yet and the last item I keep going back and forth on is the engine. I like the idea of the 2.0 but a little concerned on the direct injection/turbo complexity. Know oil quality can impact both and this product helps.

Direct injection/turbo complexity...
Yes more complex than an NA engine. I have Two other vehicles, both DI and Turbos. They both have over 60,000 and haven't given me any trouble.

I had a 1985 Subaru that had a turbo, sold it with 110,000 miles still all original. Granted these are not super high mileage, but still I am not worried about them.

First introduced in the 2016 Giulia in April of 2016, it’s a recent engine (GME/Global Medium Engine) but I’ve heard of some past warranty, 50k + miles fwiw. It’s in the 16 up Giulia, 17 up Stelvio, and 18 up Wrangler, Cherokee, and Chinese Grand Commander. So it’s got some applications to research the owner history on. The Multiair engines have been around since 2010. That said, it’ll likely be a couple more years before there are some approaching 60k miles when some DI turbo engines start giving early signs of excess intake valve deposits.

getting ready for first oil change. best aftermarket oil filter, or mopar? first oil change is coming up. i'll either be using mobil 1, or amazon synthetic.
Per the manual the oil has to meet:
Engine Oil — 2.0L Engine:
We recommend you use API Certified SAE 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, meeting the requirements of FCA Material Standard MS-13340 such as Mopar, Pennzoil, and Shell Helix. Refer to your engine oil filler cap for correct SAE grade.

could not tell or find out if Mobil 1 meets the requirement but
Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic does

Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil (5-Quart, Single-Pack),
from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6YFM58/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Read the Addendum to MS-13340 I posted above.
Any oil that meets API SN PLUS will work.

Some oils have an SN+ rating very few meet MS-13340. Just like there is Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and there is a difference. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is always at or near no.1 in all oil test not so with Pennzoil Platinum. For 30-60k vehicles i cant fathom not using the exact spec or the top rated?
MO-339 filters can be bought for under $10 at Wal-Mart. No to hard to acquire.

Be careful as the Penzoil Ultra Platinum was not MS-13340 rated only a couple months ago. The Penzoil Platinum is MS-13340 certified.

This doesn't make sense that the lesser product has better specs so I suspect the Ultra Platinum will be MS-13340 certified. Can you post a picture of the back of the bottle?

Lol that would be great the sub product has the MS-13340 rating and the top shelf doesn’t. I tossed the bottle but will check into it.
