Hells sake, don’t “Taint” your food!I wouldn't stain cutting board, may taint food.
Just use cutting board oil, food safe.

Possibly it's there to compensate for cabin ventilation that was compromised with the addition of a tailgate table. If so, it's a pretty neat solution. Why is there a fan in the tailgate?
For $90 this is the winner so far for me. Like the black. Looks like my beer would slip through the cup holder though...I went with the Rough Country 10625 - Folding Tailgate Table. It's very affordable and easy to install.
Wow… from here that looks uberprofessional!I just finished a DIY table from scraps laying around the shop - I spent a total of $1.36 for 5 screws. All else was "free". However - if I were to have been paid $2.00 an hour for engineering and fabrication time - it'd have been much cheaper to buy one.
That being said, here is my "do-all" table. 28" wide, 22" deep, with a 16" deep top shelf. Everything is hinged, so I can use either half table or whole table, top or bottom, as I see fit. The whole thing weighs 14 pounds and sits less than 2" deep when closed (including the 0.200" offset from the tailgate for venting). Made out of 0.062 aluminum.

I was looking at this one due to the extra storage cubby. Would this fit if you have a 45qt fridge installed?I like the Quadratec table. I had the Mopar and switched to this when it came out. Better stability and hinge support.

I don’t think it will work. It sticks out pretty far. I actually got rid of it about 4 months ago and switched to a Goose Gear table.I was looking at this one due to the extra storage cubby. Would this fit if you have a 45qt fridge installed?
Update on my Goose Gear table.I thought that my wife was nuts for insisting on the Goose Gear table, but it was simple to install, it's exceptionally well made, you can open it with one hand, and I've never heard it rattle. Its price, however, matches its build quality.

That is very odd. The fact it started after being reinstalled makes me suspicious. Why would it NOT rattle prior to you uninstalling and then reinstalling it if the root cause was the bamboo cutting board contracting in low ambient humidity? How much of a gap is there? I was under the impression bamboo was very stable compared to other woods and so I did a brief search:Update on my Goose Gear table.
I had to take it off a while back to run cables to my rear camera. After putting it back on it developed a severe rattle. The bamboo is nowhere near as thick as the opening that it sits in. I have no clue what's different about how it's installed now versus initially.
I took it in to the Goose Gear dealer in Denver that I bought it from and he was stumped. He chatted with Goose Gear and they said it's due to the bamboo contracting in our low humidity. Well, that's pretty much all we have here in Colorado.
I've currently addressed the extremely annoying rattle by jamming a chunk of a clothespin between the metal and the wood.
Current recommendation: don't spend $550 on a Goose Gear table. Buy one of the significantly cheaper and better alternatives.

Now, that’s not to say it doesn’t contract or expand based on humidity. I just question that reason as THE reason for your issue. If that were the case, wouldn’t we be seeing more people on here complaining of the rattle during winter months? Why did it not do it before you uninstalled it? Kind of sounds like BS from Goose, which is unsettling considering the cost of their table….
Goose is local to me, I had considered going over to their shop to look at their table, now I’m not so sure.
That was one of my concerns so I upgraded the hinges to a steel hinged reinforcement bracket.I know a lot of people install these obviously from threads like these. Is there any worry about the stress of a table and having bigger tires on the tailgate?
