I had general grabber AT2 on my LRD2 and Duratracs on my JKRU10A and now K02 on my JLURS and I preferred the Duratracs for overall perfomance. The thing they do better than the 2 others is that they don’t hydroplane on water or slush due to their tread design. Reason Why I have the K02 on my current Jeep is because of availability.

Toyo OC AT3. Load C 285/75/17 true as you can get to a 34" tire. Have done well from TX to MI in dry, wet, standing water,Snow. No issues at all.

The Nitto Exo Grappler are snowflake rated and has an aggressive pattern so a best of both world but unfortunately backordered. Another option is the Yokohama X-AT.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
My Top 3;

  1. Falken Wildpeak AT3W
  2. Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T
  3. BFG KO2
That's a good list, the Falkens & Mickeys both have very deep tread for an AT vs the K02s and most other ATs.

Ten years ago an all-terrain tire was little more than a glorified all-season. Modern all-terrains provide decent off-road capability without sacrificing too much comfort and safety on-road.

The current generation of all-terrains, be KO2s, Grabber ATXs, Wildpeak AT3Ws, Duratracs, will do a great job balancing your on-road and off-road needs.
Agreed. I have both the KO2s and the Grabber ATXs (studded). Both are great. If you’re worried about hitting standing (puddled) water at 50 MPH +, or you want traction in deep mud or snow, I’d favor the ATX, otherwise the KO2 is impossible to beat as an all around, all-position tire.

The caster suggestion is right on the money too.

The SteerSmarts/Yeti was a magic improvement for me too, as it was for my brother on his JLUR. Steering is rock solid, even with the original steering box.

OP, it sounds like you’re on the right track. Just one more note: I‘d get everything dialed in and then install the steering stabilizer. The stabilizers don’t fix problems, but they can mute the symptoms that help you diagnose the source of continuing wandering problems. Once your jeep is driving like a gem you can throw the stabilizer back on.

Good lucK,

Good lucK,
Agreed. The General Grabber ATXs seem to do slightly better in the PNW's perennial rain and in the snow; the KO2s have a slight edge on dry conditions and at highway speeds. Both are great all-around tires.

I’m not a fan of the KO2’s in wet weather. I have a Sahara with takeoffs, and I’ve owned quite a few vehicles with many different tires. The KO2’s are fine when dry, good in mud, great in snow, but horrible on wet pavement. I’ve never seen so much slippage and fishtailing from such a light throttle. And before anyone asks; yes they have plenty of tread, yes I rotate all 5, yes they’re at the correct PSI, and yes all my casters and alignments are spot on.

I just put these on the GF's JK. Not very "Bro" but awesome tires. I ran them on my Tacoma a few years back. She got 60 K out of the original Bridgstones. These are the Revo-3's.

To be honest, I found the factory AT tires to handle on road very well!

Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar.

I was given kudos for hitting the trail on "The Street Tires" that day... But on road they were pretty good.

I would also recommend looking at the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus.

They're more aggressive and wider than the factory Goodyears. Still pretty quiet.
I've done several road trips to Florida on these and still manage high 20s MPG.

The Pirelli Scorpion ATR is on one of the F-150s at work

Pretty quiet and smooth, but it really has a Street Tire look to it.

I haven't seen it mentioned, so I'm going to throw my pick into the mix:

Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT

I've been running them for just over a year on my Sport Altitude with 18 inch wheels (factory Sahara wheels in black). They are a fantastic all around tire and can be had at a great price.

I have Micky's Baja Boss AT's on order right now. The reviews have been excellent and those I've spoken to who have them, love them. And I've had good experiences with Micky's in the past.
Five 285/70r17's came in just under $1,300....

Can't wait to get them on...
Sounds like a good deal. Where did u order from?

If you want strictly on street performance then maybe look at the Bridgestone Dueller Allenza? It comes on the 4xe Sahara and High Altitude conventional power trains. On road they are best tires I’ve had on a Jeep.
