I just received a call from the Jeep dealership where they are saying I need to replace my 35" KO2's at 11k miles on my '22 JLURD. They are saying they are worn at an angle and they have seen a few of them with that "production date" that need this. They are saying it is a problem with these tires. Uh, what?

I am running the Mopar lift and I had a 2018 JLUR with 35" KO2's running the Mopar lift without any problems.

Has anyone heard anything like this or point me to a discussion about this?

Wear at an angle because of the production date? I would get a second opinion. At 11k any uneven wear should be solved with a rotation. KO2's generally last 50k+ miles. Do you have any drivability issues? How's your relationship with the dealer?

This would have been its 3rd 5-tire rotation when I am being told this.

Driveability - I have felt the steering on this is way looser than my 2018, even though it is an identical setup as far as aftermarket equipment. I have owned a TJ LBW, JKUR and this is my second JLUR - so I am definitely familiar with "honest officer, not drunk, just Jeep steering." But this is much looser.

I am escalating up at the dealership, but just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this type of issue.

They have a 50K mileage warranty. Perhaps have them replaced with the prorated adjustment. Seems like you’d only be on the hook for about 20% of the price of the new set?

Ok, just got off the phone with the manager of the service department. Was able to get a more detail than what I received from my the service customer rep.

The steel belts in manufacturing did not line up correctly and and one belt is actually on top of the other which makes it so the overall tire is pitching at a 5 degree angle. No cupping or anything and alignment is fine. He said he has seen one other JLUR in there with KO2's as well that had the same problem a few months ago and they spent many days trying to diagnose it, which is what helped them determine my problem faster.

Anyone have any contacts of how to get in touch with BFG Warranty?? :)
