2018 JLU Rubicon manual - Ordered 3/3

This is a How To Video on the installation of this kit. I wired this up to the battery and ground bus bar, not the AUX switch.
Cool Tech LLC Jeep JL All-In-One CB Radio Kit with the Cobra 75 WXST / 4' Firestik FireFly Antenna.
I'll post a video on how to tune the Antenna with a SWR Meter tomorrow on my YouTube page.
Did you have a reasoning for hooking it directly to the battery vs finding ignition enabled fuse?

I have my CB wired direct to the battery so that I don't need to have the Jeep on to use it. Just don't forget to turn it off when not in use.

Easy now....all you people flaming that guy need to chill. I seriously doubt he did that to cause harm to others. You, by all means, aren't a perfect boy scout either. None of you are. Flaming people without even knowing what's in their heart on a public forum gives Jeepers a bad name.

I think he gets the picture now and I'm sure he's going to do the right thing.
I’ve been a victim of some drivers Ill secured ball hitch come off while they were on the highway. At 65mph it came loose hit the pavement and bounced up to grill level on my wives SUV completely blowing through the radiator and destroying the engine. If I was in a car it would of been window level and I would of been killed. So naturally this stuff pisses me off and I’ve seen far to much of it, especially with Jeepers running 37s on factory JK rear mounts without the proper braces. If you can’t afford to do things the right way don’t do it at all, especially if it can affect someone else’s life.

This is just careless for the sake of “fashion”. It serves no purpose and is just a mistake waiting to happen. That could literally kill someone if it comes loose at highway speeds. This kind of nonsense belong on a Honda and not on a Jeep. Bet you consider it a mod...... this gives Jeepers a bad name.

Excellent point. He did say he was gonna get some bolts and "do it right".

I think we can all empathize with your personal experience @EarlyJK and am sorry to hear that your wife and yourself had your lives endangered by a stranger's lack of proper maintenance and care of equipment.

That being said, and as was mentioned by @Man-of-methods, there is no indication that @MACCTM did this with any intention of hurting you or others. From what I can gather from his personal past experience, he's ran this mod (for lack of a better term) on his JK without any issues, and just wanted to share it. He's not the 1st person to suggest a questionable mod (see all the threads about the people convinced that swapping in LED bulbs into stock halogen housings without retrofitting is okay, probably the biggest offender in this entire forum), and he won't be the last. I think the fact that not only did he not fight back against the multitude of individuals that questioned the potential safety of this mod, but as @obwahn pointed out he actually stated he's seeking an alternative solution to this, I think the message was recieved loud and clear the 1st few times from the less hostile.

Which brings us to the crux of the matter. Your post, whether you intended it to be or not, came off as hostile. While we can all understand your passion behind your reasoning, it doesn't justify essentially accusing him of carelessly trying to inflict harm on others or generalizing that owners of other brands are stupid assholes who do just that.

I've belonged to plenty of other forums where they shit on other people for the dumbest of things and raise the torches and pitch forks trying to crucify other people for voicing their opinion. I only mention this because I've seen an increase of this here lately, the last one where a member indirectly actually threatened another member with possible physical harm over something not even worth it.

Let's not be like those places. Let's be better.

[I'm ready to be called a fairy and for the "it's because of overly sensitive people like you that there are problems with this country" posts]

Nope you won’t get any back talk from me as you have made a very good point. It did get me fired up and maybe I spoke from the heart before I used my head. I don’t get my kicks outta flaming people on the internet and if I came across as aggressive I apologize.

Ahhh yeeeeuhhhhh! Got some tint put on! 20% rear and back windows, 35% front.

I really need to look into tint. My ghostly white self does not do well even with the indirect sunlight. (I may be part vampire, but not those creepy sparkly ones.)

I will not be participating in this forum as of 8/31/2018. It's been a fun ride, but it's time to move on. Take care. - Dustin

I took off my euro cover. I like this look alot better.

For those who don't have any LED's, I turned on my morimoto fog lights, and also my LED switchback turn signals. (they are daytime running when not making a turn).
