Let's face it,to many of us the look IS important. I currently have Hutchinson RockMonsters on my JK. LOVE my RMs, but don't love re-torquing the bolts (90 of them!) and the tiny bit of air pressure loss over the months. Plus the RMs are HEAVY. Me lifting my spare is comical. I do wheel, and rub rim-mounted balancing weights off so I get the balancing weights in the well instead. I've gone as low as 8 psi for sand, but do I really NEED Beadlocks? I'm not the best wheeler, the edges rub ALOT. I like the idea of a replaceable outer rim since he'll be my DD too.

New JLUR ordered and am agonizing over which wheels. Definitely going to go 37s, so stock wheels won't work. I've seen the AEV Borah and Mopar Beadlock that have the option to go "regular" (DOT approved) or true Beadlock ring. The Punkn'con will be my only vehicle and Daily Driver but I do plan to wheel him - moderately this time.

So...how do you folks with Borahs or Mopar Beadlocks like them? Is balancing a problem? Upkeep? Did you go with Beadlock ring? Is this your only vehicle/DD?

For a daily driver, I wouldn't do beadlocks for the reasons you listed. There is a lot of upkeep and added possible issues.

Being that you tend to ding up your wheels, I would go with one of the replaceable ring options. The two you listed are solid choices, there are others available as well.

Thank you. Kinda leaning non-beadlock. Definitely replaceable rings.

I like both of your choices because of the back spacing being +25 and can be used without the actual bed lock ring. Many others are -12 which will make your tires stick out a bit more. You may want that.

Yeah, the "offset" "backspacing" thing melts my brain a little. :surprised:I like 'em tucked in as much as possible, but not rub when stuffed.

Here’s a few pictures of my 315/70R17 KO2’s on Mopar (fake) Beadlock wheels. They don’t stick out much at all and they’re almost the same as a 12.50” wide tire.

I can’t find any consistent numbers on the backspacing for the Mopar wheels. I’ve seen them listed as -12, +12, 0, and +3. I don’t believe the -12 is accurate.
