That better not happen to me... seems several here have had lots of problems and not sure what the issues are, I would be curious in percentages sold versus percentage of major issues reported.

So what’s causing this problem ?
Not exactly sure but many cases seem to be linked to the auxiliary battery. Whether it's a blown fuse, poor ground, bad connection or aux battery not charging properly.

Just happened to me. The battery light came on while out of cell phone range on a mountain pass. I watched the battery volt meter continue to drain until, fortunately, got to a town when the whole system, engine, etc, shut down. I restarted the Jeep and everything came up fine. Info system had to reboot. Dealer can’t find anything wrong.

This is ridiculous. This should be a safety recall of the highest priority. There was another member that had their Jeep shut down while they were driving on the highway.

I installed the Genesis dual battery system to help mitigate against something like this. We shouldn’t have to spend extra money on mods just to make sure your vehicle won’t leave you stranded somewhere.

I love my Jeep but holy crap is FCA a garbage auto maker.

Has anyone figured out the root cause for this? Yesterday I was on a trail for about an hour. Mostly climbing in 4L 1st gear. At about 10500 feet the jeep stalled. All the gauges flashed and then I was able to start it back up. As soon as I started it I noticed the battery light was on. I continued to notice a lot of weirdness with the lights on the dash. They were flickering and bouncing all over the place. About 15 minutes later I got a warning on the dash saying it was going to shutdown accessories that use a lot of electricity (heated seats etc). Then I stopped to take it out of 4L and it would not go into gear. So I turned off the engine because I had no other option. The engine would not start again. So I called Mopar road side assistance and after about 20 minutes I tried to start and it worked. From that point on the check engine light was on but we were able to drive another hour before parking it. This jeep is brand new with 200 miles on it. I'll take it to a dealer on Monday but since this problem does not seem to be well understood I'm afraid it's going to be a very time consuming and frustrating experience. Not to mention my confidence in this jeep is now very low.
