More than likely, as I believe everything (?) Banks currently produces is now CARB legal. 8:36 in the video shows them applying the CARB E.O. sticker with the number illegible, so they're probably waiting on CARB to issue the number before selling to the public.

Why would that matter?
It probably matters if you're in one of the 15 states (+DC) that follows CARB standards... which is about 37% of the population in the United States.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite...that have adopted,as the District of Columbia.

Oh wow I missed the video completely. Well glad to hear he is getting compliant. Years ago I spoke to him about one of his products and CARB compliant. He was very evasive which completely turned me off to the company.

Southern California has a unique topography and whether conditions that can make smog pretty horrific. I remember days in the early 70s as a kid when my lungs and eyes burned from the smog.

Not all emissions laws are bad. They are not all good either but it beats the heck out if not being able to comfortably inhale.

Id prefer to keep my vehicle smog legal because A) it runs cleaner B) it would be a PITA to have to change it back every other year and C) it is just the right thing to do.

Agreed. However, I also find it hard to believe any intake system could ever effect smog in a modern fuel injected vehicle.

I asked Banks about availability & dyno charts:

We are almost done with the development process and plan on releasing it this Summer. At the moment we do not have any dyno numbers, but we will have more info available once we get closer to release.

82% more CFM over stock is impressive. It doesn't look like they are using any sort of Helmholst Resonator on this intake.

I wonder how much louder it will be, as they state, ' Huge change in induction sound'. The unit looks well engineered, I'd try one!

Wouldn’t this require a tune to take advantage of the additional airflow?
