Just got this JL sport couple weeks ago and in the process of taking off the doors, as every jeep owner should, noticed theres a plastic bag around this module under the passenger side dash.

Was wondering if its there for water prevention or I just got a Friday wrangler and someone forgot to take off the part bag

Less then 100 miles and the backup camera is not working already as well, been reading the threads about the loose connector TSB so far

Hi zv001,
We haven't seen anyone reach out with something like this yet. Have you had the chance to have your dealer look into this?

Your not the only one. I noticed that bag on my wifes sport when installing her CB Radio, but for some reason I don't have the same bag on my Rubicon.

I think it is left over assembly trash. When my JL was delivered and after I got home, I had no AM/FM radio reception. Rather than wait on the dealer, I troubleshot and found the antenna connector not connected in that area and found the same heavy clear plastic bag stuck up under the dash and pushed more towards the forward corner of the firewall. I thinks someone in that assembly section of the plant is lazy and QC is not catching it

I have this on my rubicon. Assumed it was some sort of water protection in the event doors are off, apparently not the case. Build date March 15th.

NO bag on mine. I'd just pull it off. Sounds like dealer prep missed it.

Is there a trick to accessing the BCM? Can it be lowered? Can the cabin air filter get moved out of the way? How the heck am I supposed to run a wire to it?

To get to the harnesses at the top of the BCM you have to remove all other connectors below. No way for your hand to fit otherwise. I successfully installed a couple wires for halos this way.
