Interesting, as they didnā€™t do that in the past for FOOS et al, so curious that they would make it an event, seems like more work for the builders and shortening their time to show.

I still have hope, but weā€™ll see soon enough.

At the latest the 15th in Toledo is a ā€˜mustā€™ date so LAAS still just seemstoo far off, and missing an opportunity like SEMA still seems like a big fail if they canā€™t do that.

I think that they won't miss SEMA. The reveal will be there because unlike the laas it is an industry deal and not open to the public so not a public release but a targeted enthusiastic audience. Wet the appetite then another what 2 weeks to the la auto show. Just my thoughts. Then again they built this dirt hills at the plant.

I am not sure why everyone is convinced they would do something at SEMA when they have said repeatedly both publicly and privately that it would be LA and they have never wavered on that. It just seems like wishful thinking.

If it was a SEMA reveal, we would have heard something substantial enough or gotten some type of hint by now to solidify it

SEMA does showcase automotive specialty products and there is a very strong aftermarket for Jeep parts and upgrades so it would seem logical that perhaps some of the biggest Jeep product vendors might show items for the new JLs. Which would mean that FCA would have provided them with information or maybe even mules for product development.

I don't think it's out of the question that perhaps a vendor might have a new JL in their booth though looking at the lead times perhaps that is wishful thinking.

Because LA is too late for all the good marketing, including the big World Series now, and then missing the huge Thanksgiving marketing period, which is just plain St00pid.

Plus LA is awash in other news, and the ā€˜New Jeepā€™ is nothing special there and has no history. SEMA has not only a Jeep friendly crowd and associated press devoted to the product, but also a major history there where they would dominate the news cycle there more os than a new Electric Mini that is definitely eating into the Wranglerā€™s press at LA.

It can still be LA instead of SEMA, but that would be the choice of marketing morons.

Just because you think it is stupid doesn't mean it isn't exactly what they intend to do. If they were going to reveal at SEMA why would they keep that a secret? Why would they lie about the reveal being at LA?

Why wouldnā€™t they have put it in the LA reveal schedule if itā€™s so overt?
Why isnā€™t the Wrangler even just in their list of vehicles, why is it that much of a secret.... ? Same answer for Both.

Although with SEMA not being a public show itā€™s still not a public reveal, so no secret, but accurate.

Even just not having Wrangler on Jeepā€™s regular list @ LA, even if it were with a pic of the old JK Wrangler which would be updated post launch to the JL, is a poor waste of free marketing hype from the show.

I think FCA knows they'll sell all the initial JLs with ease, so why bother with marketing until Q2 or Q3 2018?

That would be hilarious if a vendor "accidentally" brought a JL to SEMA claiming "we didn't know".

In reality with all the leaks, the release might be somewhat anticlimactic at this point. It seems we know far too much about this vehicle already. It seems many of the biggest questions have been answered. Gearing, engine, tranny, roof, interior, wheels, ESS, towing, roll bar, front windshield, etc. Really what's left to learn except for pricing and EPA figures? Sure we need some other technical details such as specific transmission gear ratios and engine specs, etc. but on a whole the JL has already been introduced on this forum.

We will be at SEMA with multiple daily updates! If the JL is revealed there, we will cover it - most likely live!

When it Rains.. yet is still Sunny outside, a multi-coloured pathway will appear before your eyes, which.. if you follow it to the end will lead you to fortune... and the new JL. :sun::rain:
