The bolt goes bad. What should I do?

shitty Jeep can’t even use a quality bolt for a 60k+ car.

Sent it a little hard with that torx bit eh?

There isn't a metal one that replaces OEM but there are options if you get a new carrier.

Should be a lot of people that have them laying around though.

Yeah, that isn't meant to be torqued down. It's just a basic fastener that you give like a half twist to put on and a half twist to take off. Someone went to town on that!

Yeah I almost did that. It turns easily from lock to unlock. Does NOT unscrew!!!

Make sure it is in the unlock position and then you have to wiggle and pull the cover straight off. I was getting frustrated and then read the instructions.

Yes. I realized that. Now I can’t get it back to locked position!!
Well, hopefully it is unlocked and you can just pull it off and replace it with new and forget about it. Yep $10.

so basically it doesn't lock anything. it just move tiny screws inward and make it tight. There's bar that you can push which does the same thing.
