Maybe try a different brand fuel.
Since I bought mine about 10 months ago , it didn't matter what brand went in and it was always 87 but always pinged below 2000 RPM . Did a 93 octane full fill-up ...no pingsI put shell 87 on my 21jlur and haven’t had any issues so far.
Might try a different gas station then. I have had my 3.6 2020 JLUR since Sept 2019 and she has been running fine at 87 Octane. Does she have a drinking problem at 17.5 MPG? Absolutely yes. But she runs like a champ at 87 Octane.Hey guys the 3.6 definitely doesn't fare too well with the 87 octane . One full fill up of 93 and there's no more pinging. So much for the recommended stuff
When full throttle I rev out but @ rolling speed I keep the RPMs low. Oddly between 1000 -2000 RPM torque is bit uneven or one could say jerky .. Other makes are nothing like this the torque is more linear.Just wondering-any chance you’re not revving the motor out enough? That’ll make one ping every time.
In my travels I never restricted myself to one brand but never noticed a difference between the brands either . This is the first time I dumped some extra cash into the tank ..to put it short mine doesn't seem to like the 87Might try a different gas station then. I have tried 93 Octane once or twice and noticed no difference. Given the fact that 93 can cost upto a buck fifty more per gallon here on Long Island, I am happy sticking to 87 Octane.
Do any mods to it esp the engine? Mine is factory stock still and will probably stay that way for as long as I own it.In my travels I never restricted myself to one brand but never noticed a difference between the brands either . all factory... including wheels... I truly believe at this point that its running lean @ part throttle in 1000 -2000 range.Do any mods to it esp the engine? Mine is factory stock still and will probably stay that way for as long as I own it.
