Just realized, due to the backup camera placement, no way to use a tire cover?

There’s a MOPAR parts thread with some tire covers with cutout holes in them for the camera. That part of the reason the camera protrudes out a bit I’d guess.
This has been discussed before.Seems like Jeep could have better positioned this?
Sure they can, just cut a hole in them.So not all covers will work?
Position the camera where??????Seems like Jeep could have better positioned this?
So it’s not the cover you care about but brand recognition on the cover?
Again, not a major hardship.
However, I also notice you have no alternative recommendation(s).
You got a PROBLEM with That !?!People still put covers on their spares?
Had to find the one wheel cover you def can't use on the JL...lol.You got a PROBLEM with That !?!
:cwl:
This has been discussed before.
On a vehicle with a higher propensity to have the bumper replaced, and whose license plate is offset so much as to have and obstructed/partial view, where would you put it?
Exactly right there. In the bumper. That’s where the after market cameras have been installed to date.
I would imagine the after market guys are smart enough to take that into consideration when they build their bumpers.
It’s a poor location and looks like a hack job. It’s no revelation of where it should go.
Really it’s ok to just stick it on the spare wheel and then cut a hole in the spare cover for it. A hole....really come on now.
The new JL is really impressive and I will be getting one. But admit it the engineers really blew this one.
My very first mod is moving the camera so I can install a rigid spare cover with um..... no hole in the middle of it.
