Backup camera cover won’t fit. Is it necessary?

I put new wheels and tires on the JL today and the backup camera cover will not latch due to lack of clearance with the new wheels. Is it really that necessary to have on?

Just protection. Not horrible to have it off- but a good option to try to find a way if you can.

Looks better without it and that cover is worthless. When mine falls off I won't be shedding tears.
