Hi all,

Put my new spare on with Black Rhino El Cajon's, noticed that the rear camera bezel no longer fits, since the camera fits deeper inside the centerbore than stock. Looks like it gets hung up on the bottom of the bezel where it locks in.

Anyone else experience the same thing, or have a solution? I was thinking about just cutting it.

TIA

Are you talking about the camera cover, if so itā€™s not needed so you can leave it off

I have El Cajons on order and didnā€™t know that. What size and offset are yours?

I've learned that a 4.5 backspace (-12) will allow the Camera bezel to fit, also it doesn't block the bottom half of the camera view. A 5 backspace (+1) wont allow the bezel and blocks the bottom half of camera view. That's my experience with Fuel wheels anyways.

Replaced wheels on Rubicon JL with Fuel Vapor (+1) and it does black bottom 25% of the camera view. -12 would have been better.

So would 0 offset 4.75 BS on 17x8.5 wheels block the camera and would the cover still fit?

Leave the cover off. The Boomerang covers also require removal. Itā€™s just there for aesthetics.

I sacrificed my 5th wheel's hub, and cut an insert. It now looks like a Bear's face! Hence my Jeep's nickname "The Bear!"

Have been looking at lots of wheels and think I have it narrowed down. Only final question is how much of the camera it will cut off and will the bezel/cover fit over it.

17x8.5 with 6.1 BS (which is almost same as stock) will the extra 1" of the rim obscure the camera any?

17x8.5 with 5.7 BS (a little less than stock) will that block more of the camera than the above - I assume so?

I cut the bottom of mine so it would fit my Fuel wheels then uses a low temp glue gun to secure it. Still can pull it off. Lock part does not work anymore.

Yep, had to move it up with a RC relocation bracket. Donā€™t like it but it is temporary until I get a Warn Elite bumper

not entirely true. I have 17x9 Black Rhino Warlord rims with -12 backspacing and my back up camera cover had to be removed.
