Scheduled for next week. The Dealership is giving me a rental for the day even tho their info says it only should take an hour.

That is a helpful document - is there more of it available?
I’m sure there is. Unfortunately I can’t source it through alldata yet. Scott from Jeep4xefans managed to get ahold of this snip early this morning and is trying to get it circulated. The whole process is more than likely going to take at least 8 hours per vehicle (assuming they are at <1% charge state) since they need to get at least a 90% charge on the pack to start.

I’d awfully suspect of any dealer that tries to rush these out the door faster than that (especially an hour. There’s no way that’s legit. I’m gonna assume the service advisor just doesn’t have a clue what’s involved).

This is very helpful thank you! Glad I pushed for the rental. I wonder should we bring it in charged or atleast with some charge? Just reading the doc its a 6 hour process if you bring it in above 90%.

Dropped mine off this morning. I charged it overnight outside to get it above 90% to save them a step. Not sure how long they will have it.

Sweet, Thanks!
Just scheduled the appointment for tomorrow for both recalls. Was told it's just a software update.

The dealership I usually go to for general service said that the needed a "special charger" to support these recalls and that they wouldn't have one available for 6 months. So I'm thinking, what special charger could they possibly need? Then I read the snippet shared above - perhaps they don't have a level 2 charger installed in a service bay? Sheesh... Time to call around.

And that is ONLY for the software portion to determine if you need the battery change.
If you need replacement batteries, if codes are set after the above, then they get to shut down the systems and open it up and swap batteries. Count on a couple of days if it needs batteries. They won't have stacks of them in the back room.

It looks like a time consuming process, and probably not worth their time, one work day+ to just do phase 1 of this recall.

Jeep probably tossing them a $200 per vehicle.
