After spending quite a bit of time in the Mojave Preserve, Death Valley, Baja and Eastern Sierras, I had it with worrying about ice and battery power. I started with a Jackery 500 to just power my CPAP and some other basic items and a SETPOWER fridge. Worked fine but did not have the longevity I needed for 3 to 5 day trips. I did some homework and graphed some ideas from some other post and designed my system around my rear storage area while maintaining my stock flooring and not having to install a full platform system. We mostly move day to day and I wanted a system to charge on the move and do it quickly with the option of having Solar input also. I do quite a bit of crawling and do not want a roof rack or anything else above the tub lines on the jeep for maintaining the center of gravity.

The space is limited in depth so only a few batteries I found would fit. Once you stuff two 50AH LIPO4 batt's, DC to DC Charger, Buss Bars, Bluetooth Module, shunt and monitor system and 3 ANL Fuse Holders the space fills up quick. I wanted some room to work around in there when and if needed without having to remove everything. Installed two ARB dedicated Fridge plugs one for the Fridge in the jeep and one for in camp. Some extra acc. plugs, Amber load out lighting to keep the bugs out, rear glass light, switch controller and a digital monitor to keep eyes on everything.

Total charge time is 3.25 hours from totally dead while driving and with the solar and the system up the DC to DC charger has a MPPT controller and BMS built in to it will switch over to trickle charge the starter battery. Switch controller controls all rear systems and lighting interior wise. All three systems full blue tooth control from either my phone or ipad I use for navigation. Nermark 50AH batt's total watt hours is just under 1300wh total,. Renogy charger, shut and monitor, 1000 watt inverter.

So far works bad ass and no heat issues in the compartment even after full charge amperage for extended periods. Overall cheaper then buying a 1500 or even a 1000 watt portable station.

It fully but much less with ambers. Same principal as you see with yellow bug lights.

I can appreciate great work when I see it, well done. I was looking at batteries recently and came across the Dakota Lithium batteries and they are pretty impressive and pretty expensive too
What size and type of batteries did you choose? And who makes the impressive battery box?

Nice, but my plan is to make it more portable. I would use 12v marine battery boxes and connect as required.

The incredible about of skill, expertise, and execution of many of the members here never ceases to amaze me. totally inspiring. I can barely screw in a light bulb, sadly.

Nice job fitting everything. That's a ton of power to hide under the floor.

Impressive setup if you need all that power. I figure if I'm out camping I'm wheeling and will need gas more often than ice so I've never felt the need for upgrading my power system but we all have different needs. I appreciate these overlanding type builds from an ingenuity and electrical design perspective all the same. It's also impossible to find a beer quite as refreshing as one that has been super cooled sloshing around in the ice all day while wheeling in my opinion. I can drink beers from a fridge at home and it's just not the same.

Beer still gets ice for us, but the fridge in the trailer works way better to keep food from sitting in ice water.

No one ever said " I wish I had less battery power". Looks great, wish I could get away often enough and long enough to need this

I went with the Nermak's Smallest overall dimensions. Laying flat you only have about 6 inches with the factory cover. They are about 6.14 tall x 7.6 wide x 5.11 thick laying down. ECO-WORTHY is another one that will fit fine. Overall a bit larger 7.1 tall x 9.13 wide x 5.3 thick. if you use a Redarc charger they will be fine. The red arc will mount on the side wall. the tub they are sitting in is the factory tub. Covered by the hinged floor plate.
