it doesnt have to have a signal in order to function and doesnt become obsolete every couple of years. in this video, the guy docks (iphone?) on the steering column. im sure the docking connection (lightning?) will still be used 5 years from now lol.

love the drone lights though.

My guess is the phone acts as the key via an app. And most likely there is a pin number you can punch in on a screen elsewhere should the phone be dead or app not working. At least in my future that is how it works.

As long as using my phone to start the vehicle doesn't require them to text me an authorization code and do one of the funky CAPTHCA letter number images. =) I'd be stuck at home forever. ROFL

I noticed in the video, as they say it’s powered by a lithium ion battery, they are simultaneously plugging in the cell phone which has a lithium ion battery. Hmmmmm....
