Thanks for the report! Others on Overlandbound.com are reporting it open now, too, and are going to take it on September 26. I may do the TN/NC/VA portion of the Appalatian Byway next month. Hurricane Creek Rd. and Max Patch are part of it.

Yep, we did it and it was probably in better shape than the previous two runs. There were fewer deep ruts and there was almost no trash to be found.

Glad to hear it. I kept hearing it was closed. I've never been up there

I just ran it it a couple weeks ago, as well. It's open and no issues getting through; nice and easy drive.

Define "Easy"
I saw another forum member say all the trails at Uwharrie are "easy" and any stock vehicle can do them

That was probably me, as well. Lol.

However, it's an easy trail. You will not have any problems.

It wasn't you. Wasn't a name I recognized. You're basically famous on here for being the NC jeep mechanic
Well, it sounds like something I would say. Uwharrie is pretty easy all around, but it just takes practice. I've been going there a long time, too, which helps.

Lol. I r meckanick.

I agree that it is easy. That to me mens a stock Jeep can get through it with a novice off-road driver without any problems.

A couple years ago there was a section with deep ruts and another with gumbo mud. I would not have called it easy, then. But it was greatly improved the last time I drove it.

I've done Hurricane Creek in a stock Sport S with just 33 inch tires and a take-off suspension a couple of times. It was one of the first trails I had ever run and I had no problems. Of course I had @chevymitchell to show me the ropes. I try to go at least once a year. One of my favorite trails.

I've only been once. We were in a JLU sport on 33s. I forgot what trail it was that we had to turn around on but the only way through was between a tree and a bounder that we didn't have clearance for. Or up a ledge where we would have bottomed out big time. It was late in the season last year.

I'm hoping to do the badge of honor trail this year

We can definitely get you through any trail in UWharrie. I have run every trail there with that setup. And I suck at wheeling.
