ATTENTION THOSE LOOKING TO INSTALL WINCH ON MOPAR STEEL BUMPER

Rustys off road is the only company I have found so far with in stock Winch plates for JL steel bumpers. I do not however see a pic of what the kit comes with $229. i dont know if it comes with the canister relocation bracket or not. JCR will have their kits available in a week or 2 $229 and it does come with relocation bracket.
The issue I am seeing is that There is limited winches that will fit and non of which are smitty built.
Here are the winches that we know do fit as of right now PER RUSTY'S OFFROAD:
We do not know that ALL winches will fit but we do know that the following WILL fit:

• Warn VR series
• Warn M8 series
• Warn 9.ORc
• Warn XDi
• Warn XD
• Superwinch Tiger Shark
• Superwinch LP series
• Ramsey REP series
• Ramsey Patriot series

With this said we highly recommend you compare these measurements:

• Winch Dimensions: 21.8" L. x 6.3" D. x 7.6" H.
• (555mm L. x 160mm D. x 193mm H.)

Not good, i have a Smittybilt X2O sitting in the box awating delivery of my JLU. I was under the assumption that the bumper was going to be like the current JK stamped steel bumpers BUT maybe it's not.

I was told this by another vendor (bulldog) BUT nothing beyond like what might fit in the space....

10a mount 20208 will fit with a minor modification.

The JL doesn’t have the vacuum canister and bracket but there is a new bracket on the frame mounted at the back driver’s side corner of the mount.

You have to cut a triangle corner off the 20208 on the rear drivers side to clear that new bracket. "

So with a required plate it will cost about 1k min to put a winch on the “winch ready” bumper.... lol

I would say definitely not!

You 100% need a mounting plate to put any winch in that bumper.

They have, there are a few online retailers that have the mopar mounting plates in. Also, JRC and Rusty's have an alternate plate out which not only costs less then mopar's but will fit a wider variety of winches so you don't have to purchase the super awesome special rubicon edition.

Just installed an Engo SR9S winch on my 2018 JLU with steel bumper using the Rusty's Offroad Winch Mount - fits and looks great!! Saved over $150 compared to the Mopar mount and came with the Fairlead adapter plate. Winch was $365 on Allen's Offroad and mount was $250 with shipping, for a grand total of $615.
