AT&T is running a promotion where if you sign up before 10/31 for the in car hot spot prepaid unlimited, its only $15 a month until cancelled instead of the standard $25. The do "deprioritize" after 22GB, but it still seemed like a good deal.

Nick, good info; thanks! I cannot wrap my head around a vehicle hot spot though. Virtually everyone I know has a cell phone with their own data plan. What’s the purpose?

It's def not for everybody, but families with kids and tablets, non unlimited data plan users, users who may not have the best coverage like Sprint but want something reliable to use with CarPlay or Android Auto.

Nice! I use it for carrier diversification when I travel when my main carrier has weak or no signal. I was able to "Purchase More Data" to change my plan to the promo since I was an existing customer.

I use it all of the time. There are some areas where I wheel that for one reason or another I don't have good Verizon connection for my phone, and I can usually get 4G with the AT&T connection... and vice versa.

If you have a the "Post Paid Plan"...which is $20/mo...if you call and ask them about the promotion, they will give you the $15/mo rate. I just did that myself. Even though it's just a $5 savings, that's better than nothing at all.

This is actually a very decent deal!

The Jeep will always have better reception than your cell phone due to the size of antenna, that is just physics.

Also, use your cellphone as a hot spot can overheat the phone pretty quick.

And it is also so easy to cancel if you feel this is not for you.
