Keep your RPMS above 2k, no matter what gear you are in. The motor doesn’t like to be below 2k rpms.
The Jeep runs just fine at 1500 RPMs... That's generally where it keeps itself unless I really have my foot on the gas.

3.6L may not like rpm below 2K.
The 2.0L Non Rubi models live in the 1600-2000 Rpm range in 7-8 gear @ 65.

I have a manual and it doesn’t like to be below 2k rpm. Can’t speak about a automatic, but even if you look at a dyno graph of a 3.6, it doesn’t make any power at 1500 rpms. I’m sure it can coast at that rpm on flat ground with very little throttle input.

Transmission doesn't matter. 1500 RPMs in overdrive is cruising (not coasting) regardless of Manual or automatic.

My manual also hates lower than 2k rpm, bogs down. Big difference from JK to JL was the need to "wind out" the engine to go anywhere with responsiveness.

In some vehicles, this may be true, but not so with the JL. The numerical ratios in the transmission and in the differential makes a difference. Also, it is apparent, which is usually the case, there is a different engine tune depending on transmission. I do not have the 8 speed auto, but you can not cruise at 1500rpms with the manual transmission.

8th gear in mine is .67 and with a 3.45 axle so I don't have any more mechanical advantage than you should in your 6th gear at .72 with 4.10 axles. In other words barring any difference in actual engine tuning, I should "struggle" more than you do. I have yet to drive a manual JL so I can't go off of experience. The only person I know that has a Manual in their JL is riding on 37s with 4.88 axles so that will be an entirely different experience than most.

You are right, I should have the advantage. I would say it comes down to the oem tune. If you go into my post history, you will see my opinions about how I feel about it. Lol.

One of these days I'll find one and drive it to see... but it seems my dealer only stocks one once in a blue moon, and over charges for it.

I know, strange. Who would have ever thought it would be difficult to find a Wrangler with a six cylinder motor and manual transmission?

lol, Mine was on the first batch of JLs that the dealer got. 9 of em were auto and one was stick. They really skyrocketed the price of the Manual, but it was comparable to mine as far as options If I remember correctly.
