I only painted the outside edge of the calipers. Remove the wheel, take loose the caliper (the pads stay in the carrier that is attached to the axle). I slipped a piece of paper between the pads and the caliper and put the caliper back on the wheel (putting one bolt back in). Taped around the side I wanted the paint to stop and used another piece of paper to block over-spray. All told, 15-20 minutes per wheel...maybe. I lifted the front axle, done those, then lifted the back axle and done those. I have plenty of jack stands but felt better keeping 2 on the ground. LOLSuper nice. Did you take all 4 wheels off at the time, or individually? Also, which brand of caliper paint?
The caliper paint was Rustoleum...got it at Wal-Mart.
