Are there any full float conversions for the factory axles?

So I've had a 2014 Grand Cherokee since brand new with this same engine. I have pulled a camper all over the US with that car. I've had cooling issues with it, but I know the capabilities of this engine like the back of my hand (diesel - and the issues with it as well, and I still chose to buy one). I will likely just tow with my JL for now; I have a brake controller and airbags (and know the limitations of the airbags too). I will read the articles about the European JLs; thank you for that. And I need a JT and a JL like a hole in my head (esp two AEVs!)

Does that use my 4.56 gearing (that AEV put in) and OEM locker? What do you the labor would be to have it installed?

FWIW, JL's in Europe are rated at 5500 towing capacity and are identical to the North American JL.

Here's a thread discussing it a bit.
They also restrict towing speeds to 100KPH (62MPH) in Europe. That lets them handle heavier trailers safely.

Understood, but my point was that the JL is mechanically capable of towing that much with the proper hitch setup and the proper amount of common sense.

And FWIW, CA restricts all vehicles towing a trailer to 55mph. I don’t know if any other state has a similar stupid law.

No amount of upgrades will change what the sticker on the Jeep says with relation to the towing capacity.

For that price you get your choice of gear ratio and either air or electrical locker already installed.
I believe you just swap brakes and install under Jeep.

Yes..... includes 4.56 gear or greater and E locker or ARB air locker....... labor will vary.....I was a mechanic in my earlier days. I don't pay for labor.

Just looking at the Currie D60 semi-float, it appears that you will need a driveshaft too.

Wouldn’t you think that the OEM full float on a 2024 Rubicon which is bolt directly to a 2023JL, considering the non-Rubicon is the same axle as the 2023JL? That’s what I really want, a completely stock OEM plug-in play swap.

Waste of money....... you will see!
I think you may be right. Ted had a number failures of the D44 in the differential carrier. CarbonSteel instrumented his and found that the D44 Advantek runs very hot on the highway.

I’ve been toying with the idea of stepping up axels, considered the profloat (dynatracs or similar). My only concern was losing the FAD in terms of new vibration issues and to a lesser degree wear and tear. I know mpg will take a minor hit, less concerned about that, but more about introducing new moving part issues only my daily driver and Weekend warrior jeep. Anyone out there make this move, have anything bad or good to say?

So I read this thread about EU tow ratings. And I have a question about the receiver that is put on 2024 JLs with the 5000 lb tow rating? Are they still a Class 2 receiver? Are they same as is put on the JLs that aren't rated for 5000 lbs?
