Fixing stupid....
You ask about mounts for single air compressors, but the link you shared is a mount for the twin air compressor, not the single.

if you truly want an under hood mount for a single, here is a link to another one. not recommending, just wanted to clarify your request.

cannot put the link. system is blocking it. just do a google search for JL under hood compressor mount.

be aware, many on this forum have strong feelings about the owner of that store & his site.

Thanks. What I meant was I’d go for twin compressor because if this setup because I can’t find similar for a single. Interested if anyone had this twin compressor mount setup and what they thought of it.

I have the Grimm mount. Install was easy and so far so good. The only thing that concerns me long term is the proximity of the compressor to the exhaust. They provide an aluminum heat shield that is supposed to help “shield” the compressor from the heat, but I know it still gets hotter than if it were mounted in the cab. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with the mount. If my compressor fails on down the road, my opinion may change.

When I had my Jeep JK, I had a single ARB under the hood above the brake booster. It got very hot but always worked. When I got the JL I wanted a dual for my 37" tires and put it inside in the back so it wont get hot from the engine. A lot of folks run it in the wheel well and it works for them.

I like it inside, but there are a lot of options of where to put it. Most common in under the passenger seat, in the cubby in the back under the floor, or on the side like I have mine.

You could also put a single on top of the engine if you remove the engine cover.

This is mine using the MORE Offroad bracket.

I just completed the install of a single ARB compressor on the fire wall below the brake booster behind the wheel well of my 2021 JLUR with manual transmission. I used “Jeep Way of Life” bracket and followed his video. I purchased all the parts via the links he provided. Everything arrived as described. It was pretty simple. There was some discussion in the video comments about spacers required due to the manual transmission clutch hydronic line from the brake booster on JLs. But it was a non issue on my 2021. This was not a concern for auto transmissions. Maybe the line was moved a little as a result of the early problems with the clutch. Don’t know.

There is no heat shield but in the short time I have had it there has been no issue. I located the air chuck just behind the front bumper. Works great.

I did not want to sacrifice interior space for the compressor plus I did not want to hear it running while sitting in the jeep if it’s raining outside while airing up.

I had a couple questions during the install. “Jeep Way of Life” answered them via email in minutes.

So far, totally satisfied.

Great write up. I’ve been looking at that bracket too. I’d like to do the mopar aux switches to turn on and off via that system. That is the mean reason why I was looking at the Grimm system is if I didn’t go with putting aux switches I had a nice setup under the hood.

I use aux switch 4 for mine, the Dual compressor has a built in relay, the single would need a relay added to use switch 3 or 4.

How have you liked that mount? Our ecodiesel rubi will be home soon and this is the best option I have found for it. Fender mount is out of the question being a diesel, and I really don't want to mount it in the storage bin under the cargo area or the engine bay.

So for me it is either under seat mount or the MORE mount. Still just kind of undecided.

I have that mount too and love the fact that it’s completely out of the way. I hooked it up to my V/O switch.

I really like the MORE mount. I cut the bracket for the switch off because I use an aux switch. Its a pain to get the side screws in but it works great.

I don’t understand what you are suggesting. I have a single compressor and ran the power to Aux 4 since it is 15 amp vice the higher 40 amp of Aux 1 and 2. Saving those switches for a winch or whatever has a high amp draw.

You powered your compressor from AUX4? Good luck. Aux 1 or 2 will work for a single, but not 3 or 4. And for a winch to work from Aux switches it has to be toy car winch :), unless you meant control the relay for the winch. And if latter is true, than why do you need 40 amp switch to control a relay?

I am suggesting that you could use Aux 1 or 2 for the single without the relay. If you use the relay that comes in the wiring harness for the single ARB compressor then use aux 3 or 4.

Like EL Zilcho said a winch wont run off of aux switches under load.

I installed the grimm offroad over the past two days.

It was a nightmare in comparison to the instructions.

- screws that go to the firewall had very little space.
- the compressor itself had to have the outlet rotated because I couldn't get a seal good enough (this was discovered after installing - and using blue loctite). After getting the outlet adjusted, it could go one more rotation and seal correctly.
- it struggled to fit in the rubicon, it was not as clean as what I had saw online (it just fitting in the well).

Aside from that, if the installation had a bit more space, then I think it would have been incredibly smooth. I'm worried about things rattling loose. I hate taking off the fender.. makes me shudder every time.

Have only used it for a test run, love the set up. Especially not having a noisy compressor in the cabin.

Overall, impressed, but, man, total pita.
