Crackling to me sounds more like a short in the wiring maybe, unless you have a bad connection in your charging port. One of the pins in that port carries the audio. Check your port for corrosion or lint. Have you tried someone else's iPhone as test as well? And referencing someone else's comment above, NO, CarPlay doesn't work over Bluetooth. He just meant streaming via Bluetooth. CarPlay in Jeeps only works via USB.

Get a toothpick or plastic flosser with the pick on one end. Scoop out the lint. You’ll be surprised by how much accumulated in there. Don’t use anything metal!

Hello, if you want to play Apple Music on your car via the USB port, then you need to do one thing first. As Apple Music songs are under the protection of DRM, so you can't directly transfer the Apple Music to your USB. Therefore, you should remove DRM from Apple Music and then you can play on your car. You could use DRM Audio Converter Software Mac to help you do it.
