I logged on now to research this exact question. My 2021 High Altitude should be coming soon and I want to change out the tires right away. I'm planning to go to 35s with a lift (and likely swapping out the 20s), but am strongly considering running through a set of A/Ts without the lift on the 20s at first. Was unaware these high altitude editions had 20” wheels. Has anyone put some beefier tires on those rims? Curious how they look.
I assume those 20" wheels are like the other JL sets and are 7.5" wide, this limits which tires you can run (or at least run according to BFGs wheel width range).I logged on now to research this exact question. Stock tires are 275/55/20 (31.9").
Costco carries KO2s in that exact size, but also has them in 265/60/20 (32.5"), 275/60/20 (33") and 285/55/20 (32.3"). They also carry Revo 3s, but I like the look of the KO2s better.
I only do light off roading (nothing this car can't handle even with 20s), but I really am not fan of all season tires on any Wrangler, so the tire upgrade is pretty much all about looks.
I hope someone with more knowledge will post on this tread, otherwise I'll likely wait to get the car before planning/ordering new tires.
Oh wow, I stand corrected. Thanks Oregon!Headbarcode, it’s factory all right, if you prefer that kind of thing.
This is great. Thanks for the info. Now I think I’m between 275/60 (33”) or pushing it with 285/60 (33.5”).Just an FYI. A few other things that aren't obvious unless you dig for them.
1) Wheel width is 8" per the 2020 spec model comparison or 2020 online configurator.
2) Axle width is wider like the Rubi: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...build-price-is-here.51816/page-4#post-1139956
3) Rear end gearing is 3.73 also per the 2020 spec comparison.
The only thing I haven't yet confirmed is the back spacing or offset of the wheels. All of these will affect what replacement tires are likely to work with - and without - a lift.
What did you end up going with here? 275 or 285’s? I have a ‘22 4Xe coming this weekend and am torn between the two…This is great. Thanks for the info. Now I think I’m between 275/60 (33”) or pushing it with 285/60 (33.5”).
