I’m considering options for improving rear lighting. On a previous JL I installed the Oracle rear bumper lights and I loved them. However, the new Jeep has the steel bumpers and I don’t want to deal with the nonsense of having the trim the lights to fit so I need to go a different route this time. Ideally I’d get the 2 pack of the KC 2-inch C-Series C2 LED flood lights but it’s a little too pricey for me. I know there are other 2 light sets for much cheaper. I was wondiering if anyone has experience with using just a single C-Series C2 light in the rear instead of a pair? Is it enough light? I have factor Aux switches so I was going to wire direct into that. Shouldn’t be any issue wiring just a single light in, correct?

Thanks in advance for any experiences you can share …including different recommendation for less expensive lighting pairs that would work well for rear Aux lights.

Thanks,

Hello

I can help with some information and maybe even some other options. Can you send me an image of where you would like to mount the lights

Hi, Thanks for the quick response!
I can try to take a picture later but the Jeep currently has the stock steel bumper on a Rubicon X with no other mods. It does have tow hitch but I plan to use the factory Aux switches rather than tie into the hitch wiring or backup wiring. In the past I preferred having the additional lighting be switchable vs. automatic.
Looking under the bumper there seems to be a couple holes that I could mount the lights to, If I did a single one to the right of the tow hitch (like where the red OEM tow hook is on the left) do you think that would cast an effective light pattern or would I have a large blind spot on the driver side? I know two is best but I’m comparing a single KC vs two of others that are lower priced
Thanks,
- Bill
