Only everyone who has gone to a 37 or larger tire and some who just rock 35s.Fender cuts, has anyone else tried this with the JL
Yes, they can be done on the models with the 1-piece fenders. It just takes more time trimming with something like a dremel with a cutoff tool. Here is what I keep hearing, this cant be done on sport fenders only on Rubicon or Safari that split. SO can they be cut on Wrangler Sports?
First off, those stamped steel brackets extending from the frame can be removed. I reinserted the 2 bolts per side back into the frame to preserve the threaded holes. Second, if those flanges on the leading edge of the bumper are plastic, I'd trim them off with a razor blade.Follow up question - I have the plastic rear bumper and just gutted the rear fenders. What to do about the exposed end of the stock bumper while I decide on a replacement bumper?
That’s exactly what I did. Will have to be good enough for now. AAL liners going in today.First off, those stamped steel brackets extending from the frame can be removed. Nice! Did you also get their fender retention hardware kits, which replace the remaining white clips that don't get ditched when installing the liners? If not, I very highly recommend them. They not only look cleaner, but also increase the sturdiness of the fenders. That’s exactly what I did. Will have to be good enough for now. AAL liners going in today.
