I have a JLU 3.6 and I took my camper out last weekend. We travelled to a state park about 100 miles away in middle of Georgia. Only hills were near and in state park but nothing major. I have a Winnebago Micro Minnie that has dry weight right at 3,000#. Try not to put too much in it to keep total under 3500.
I don’t have much experience to relate to as this is my first Jeep and first travel trailer. I had no issues pulling and while it would stay in a higher gear at times even after I was back on level ground, I never felt like RPM was too high. Sat between 2000 and 3500 whole trip.
Have read many mixed suggestions on the Micro Minnie behind 4-dr but I live in South Georgia and don’t plan to pull too far away. I had a very positive experience.

I have pulled my twin axle boat trailer a few times and my JL has done great. Last night I went to get some sod with my utility trailer. With that much tongue weight, the back end didn’t seem to drop at all. I didn’t go far but up and over the intracoastal bridge. It pulled really well. My JK would have sagged and I would feel it a lot more stopping. The camera was really nice to make sure grass was flying off the trailer...

Looks like you could have used a 2” drop hitch!

The JL/JLU towing capacities are right at that threshold where you're usually told it's time to start using trailer brakes. I think that's the reason why we rarely see brake controller installations in Wranglers. It would still be nice to have, it's just not nearly as necessary as it would be in a Grand Cherokee or Ram where you can really pull some weight.

I’ve pulled my 3500 pound boat around town. No long trips yet. IMO it does a great job pulling it. The trailer has hydraulic surge brakes so you can’t even feel it under braking. I currently have the mopar lift and I feel the springs are too soft. I’ve ordered a rock krawler lift to replace it. The trailer and boat sit pretty level as it is.

I pulled my Winnie drop 170s with no issue at all. Kept speed between 60and 65 on the highway mostly in 7th gear. Did you get the anti sway trailer hitch ? I have the Mopar lift with 37 inch tires.

I tow two 850lb SeaDoos with my Sport S. Total weight with the trailer is a little over 1800lbs loaded. Tongue weight is just under 200lbs. It has plenty of power to get on the highway and pull up hills/boat ramps. The back end feels planted and doesn't bounce around too much. I think mine might be a bit better with a lower drop on the hitch, but I'm very happy so far. The only small complaint I have is that I'm on the boarder of needed to add trailer breaks. Technically I don't need them at this weight, but stopping really fast is not great with the AT tires (emergency situations).

I have a JLU-Ss, factory towing package.. I have towed my 17 foot Ranger with a 50 HP motor, No problems, pick up is better than my JK. Gas mileage about the same as the JK. I loose about 2 miles. Avg on the road up to the Nort woods of Wisconsin I get 25 to 26 miles per gal, Towing the boat from lake to lake, different one each day for 2 weeks I get 23 to 24 MPG. Very tight fit from the spare and the electric winch for the boat, but that's what the two side doors are for.

I do ice fishing as well and have not towed the snowmobile trailer yet, but that is an aluminum 8 X 10 trailer and much lighter.
