Thank you to all who posted in this topic. Sold our pop up and purchased a Jay Flight 195RB. 2940 unloaded which is only a couple hundred more than the pop up. Not many miles yet, but pulls fine. (V6 Manual) I can't wait to pull this with the top down! Tom

I've just read every post in this string. Whoosh! Lots of good information for a first-time tower.

I have a 2D JL with the factory tow package. I'd like to find a camper within the weight limit that has a toilet/shower. I'm sure I'm not the only one to research this so throw your favorite make/models my way, please.

Thanks!
Look at IntechRV Flyer series, the Chase and Pursue models are under your tow limit. The Pursue is around 1500 dry but does have a heavy tongue when equipped with the kitchen slide out (~352lbs). The chase is lighter and between 980-1280lbs.

I also have a 2 door JL and have been looking for a camper with bath. Have been considering the T@B 320S, but the weight will push the JL specs. Prior RV was a truck camper, which was fantastic. Traveled 23K miles back and forth across the country and always felt safe in hard sided unit. Problem was when home, the 2500 truck made for a difficult day ride. Did a lot of camping in bear country, both human and hairy, and the trailer options with tent extensions would worry me.

Here is our new trailer, Intech RV Sol Dawn with the Rover package. Dry weight, 2731 pounds, The JLUS has the 4 cylinder turbo with selec-trac and 3.45 gears. Pulled fine for our first destination which was about 2-1/2 hours each way.

Do you have any more pics of your camper? Really like your setup. What is your opinion so far?
Thanks! We love it. Works perfect for us. Pulls really good. The V6 and auto are great. 4.10 gears are good.

You can tell it’s near the tow limit though. I’m used to towing with 1/2 ton trucks prior. I purposely keep the camper and Jeep as light as possible. I’ve weighed a couple times on truck scale to make sure weight is distributed. I typically don’t drive above 65-70 tops because wind can be brutal. We’re headed to Colorado soon so curious how it does in the mountains.

because I’m probably picky, I might do a couple things to increase comfort. I wish the rear was a little stiffer when towing. The Basecamp has a heavier tongue weight so it bounces the Jeep more than I like. Was looking at metalcloak Springs and Falcon adjustable shocks. Second thing is regearing. Jeep kind of needs regeared anyway because of 37” tires. You don’t really notice until the camper is attached. Then it spends most of its time in 5th and 6th gear.

I’m very interested in the Sol Dawn. What’s your receiver and hitch set up?

We have the Andersen WDH, model 3350. Our Dawn has the Rover package so we had to cut the tongue rack for the brackets, would be the same with any WDH Not just the Andersen.
