I called discount tire direct last week and they said they had possibly five 315/70/17s coming around the Dec 11 or 12 timeframe.

Edit: simple tire has the 315/70/17s in stock for $246.99, when I requested a price match online to discount tire’s pricing, they offered them for $218 each.

Only thing about these tires is they send them over on ships. Containers full of these tires. And then those get distributed all over the U.S. So when that supply is gone, you have to wait until they make another batch of them.

Currently, the 315/70-17 is sold out everywhere I've looked. So it's the waiting game.....
Very true. They come over in huge crates randomly from overseas. When I bought the 38s I had to wait quite some time. I ended up paying a higher price because only one place had them.

With my 40s, they were unavailable for months. DTD took my order. After a month or so they decided that they were not going to stock them. They contacted a DT store and that store was able to locate 5 tires for me. Whole process took about 2 months.

Hello, I just stumbled onto this thread. I ordered a set of 295/70/17's for my jl and mounted them last week. As mentioned, they are the quietest mud mt I've ever had, and the road manners are great at all speeds. They also are not nearly as stiff as I thought they would be for an e rated tire. Headed up in the snow today to see how they do.

I am going to chalk them this morning to figure out the psi I need to run in them. I mounted them on a set of stock 7.5" jl wheels for the time being.

Anyhow, I'm very happy with them given that they were just over $600 for a set of 5!
Did you ever get a chance to Chalk them, what PSI did you end up at. I just put 315/70/R17 on my stock Rubi rims. I am at around 24 PSI, still not fully hitting the full tread lugs on the far edge.

I wish Milestar would make some Patagonias in 38x13.50R20LT. With a D load range please...

Yeah, a lot of the sizes for 18-20" wheels are "F" rated. That's WAY too stiff and heavy for a Jeep.

I had the 38s which are C rated on my JK. They were great. The 40s are D rated I have a set waiting to go on my JL.

Downsize to a smaller rim. Looks better imo.

If you are set on 20s, the Cooper STT Pro comes in a D rated 38x13.50r20.

Yeah, knew about those Coopers. Those were the only tires I could find in that size with a D rating. And absolutely would like it even better if C rated, but I haven't found a single manufacturer that make one unless you want to go real wide, like 15.5. I like the skinnier tire look and trying to keep under the fenders as much as possible.

Overall, I think I would like the quieter Patagonia's better than the Coopers and I'm hoping these new JLs cause manufacturers to retool a bit.

I paid for mine and think they kick ass. I air down to 12 psi and can idle up almost anything in my 6 speed JLUR.

No chunking and they do great on the rocks, mud, snow and sand

Put about 250 miles on the jl today. Ended up on gravel, mud, and even spent a few hours playing at the sand dunes. I never aired the tires down. Hit the sand with about 28lbs in the tires and it went everywhere I pointed it. Definitely happy I made the purchase.

JCarey, hows the ride on the E-rated tire (on the road), are you running 28 psi all the time?

It's not bad in my opinion. I commute about 80 miles a day for work. I think it drives good. No issues with wandering or anything.

I was mainly wondering if the ride firmed up noticeably as far as feeling the road/bumps much more?

They are a little stiffer, but not bad at all.
