Hey Everyone!
Just ordered my first jeep ever!
19 Sahara Unlimited 4 door in sting grey.

I have a set of 33x12.50x22tires that someone gave me brand new.
can I use these on the jeep ? What wheel will I need to use these tires?
Do I need to lift it?

Thank you!

I would google some pics of a JL with 22s...IMO it looks terrible, and rides like shit.

You wouldn't need a lift to fit 33s

I would give them back, or sell them to a pavement queen pickup guy, or possibly an escalade driver

Also, there are not many wheels in the 22" size that compliment the JL IMO

Yes but the jeep is certain to fall into a deep depression and possibly commit suicide.

alright.. how about 20"?
The tires you were given won't mount in a 20 inch wheel. If you plan on getting tires, a 20 inch wheel will look better than a 22.

The most common/popular size for the wrangler is a 17 inch wheel. I would guess 20 comes in second.

Here’s the thing... Majority of the members on a Jeep forum despise the way large wheels look on wranglers. It’s nothing personal but a lot of us prefer a purpose built rig rather than a pavement pounder with 20s. Now, I’m not bashing you as it’s your Jeep and your money, but you probably won’t get many here to give much insight on what you’re wanting to do. The fun part about Jeeps is you can pretty much go in any direction you want and find a great amount of support in the aftermarket for it. Just be aware majority of forums are more off-road based mindset

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Here's some 22x10" on 35" tires, so running 33s the wheels would look even bigger w/ rubber bands for sidewalls.

Yeah the old rule here with the JKs was 20"s were ok with 37" or larger tires and anything else you would get called names. Our JK has 20s with 35s and it off roads just fine but I'm not rock crawling with it or anything hard core. 22"s with 33"s? You should probably just remove this thread and save yourself some grief. Bottom line its your Jeep do what you want.

Usually by jealous, immature, dipshits. That being said we still run them and usually get compliments at the Jeep Jamborees when we take it.

Don’t be mad, you made the choice. I hang with old school Jeepers. I can assure you no one is jealous, lol.

I wish I could run 15's on this rig. I loved my YJ with 15's and 35" tires. It was like it had hands when it was crawling. Nothing grabbed a rock like that setup. Tires are so damn cheap at thise size too. Win..Win..

37’s on 15” beadlocks. Air down to 5 psi and go play.
