Yup we will be bringing the trailers. This is what our travel group will look like.

This is from a recent trip in the UP of Michigan on Drummond Island. We did about two weeks worth of camping on this outing.

I have a 3" foam matress and put a low end sleeping bag on top of that. When sleeping, on yop of me was a duplicate sleeping bag, a thick wool blanket folded in half, and a fleece blanket. I stayed warm at -12C (10F) all night. I also had a 12v heated blanket, which I only turned on in the morning to warm up my clothes.

It all depends on the temperature, but layers is what it’s all about. Both clothing and sleeping gear. But here’s my break down for sleep gear that allows for flexibility depending on the temperature.

1. 4” Foam Mattress + 1.5” Topper
2. Standard Sheet + 100% Wool Blanket Base
3. 20 Degree Two Person Sleeping Bag
4. Electric Blanket 110V with Timer
5. 100% Wool Blanket
6. Down Camp Blanket

I usually get too hot and have to come out of some of the layers, but my wife loves being toasty and stays under most of the layers the whole night. We usually put the electric blanket on a 3 hour timer and put it back on if we get cold. Our dual lithium system kicks ass and the solar recharges it during the day.

We have a buddy heater too, but prefer the electric blanket now that we have lithium setup.

Coldest I camped in so far was the low 20's in mixed snow and was freezing. This is why I have the above items now. Keep in mind not all the linked items are in stock in the sizes I ordered.

We have a few of those Pendleton wool blankets...pricey, but so amazing in the cold.

To the point, you get what you pay for with extreme cold and winter gear. Get high quality base layers, sleeping bag (can be $500+ for -20F), pads, etc. and you'll be toasty. I use a jackery w a heated blanket as well.

My two sons have grown a lot, so we moved to tent camping in a Northface Mountain 25 tent. It can be freezing outside and we are super warm inside.

Try cutting down Reflectix (Home Depot) to window size. It helps with condensation. Plus it gives you privacy. I swear by it. I'm 5'2" and sleep in my two door. Just finished a better sleeping solution (pic before boards were carpeted).

This is an awesome solution. Is the wood platform attached to the hard top?

Last year, I think. It was -12C (10F).

I'll be heading out this weekend, but it looks like it'll be warm... -5C (23F). I'll be trying some cold weather stuff later this year: -25C (-13F).

My solution is a good pad (I use an Exped) and just lots good blankets 😆 I have really nice expensive down sleeping bags. But I found layering several blankets does the trick.
To supercharge it during those especially cold days, I boil some water and pour it in a Nalgene bottle, then throw it under the blankets about 30 minutes before bed. Stays toasty warm for hours.

I use a jackery to power an electric blanket. Generally just to warm up the blankets and mattress. If it is real cold, like single digits, I might use it all night.

Years ago I bought two Wiggys sleeping bags for elk hunting. Not tent slept out in the open on mountain tops. Worked great just swept the snow off and got up and went about business. The bags are awesome.
