Curious, regarding the SSV Works 6.5 in. adapter, do the old speaker wires need adapters for the new 6.5in speakers? And if so, anyone know what/where to get?

Thanks!

You can cut the ends off of the factory wires and add female terminals to the factory wiring and connect to your new speakers. Or, yes, they make plug and play adapters. I've always had good luck buying from Crutchfield. Metra will make the adapter you need.

Looking at Infinity Kappa in kick and Reference on roll bar. Using the SSV and Metra adaptors, will those two conflict? Components in kick, coax in roll bar. Will this even sound ok till amp and sub is installed?

I put two ways in the dash, knee pods, and components in the soundbar and while I agree most of the sound is directed from the front; my soundbar adds a lot with the components. As long as the EQ is set right I now have mids and highs that I can hear at highway speeds with the roof off.

I just ordered the kit and I’m looking to keep the tweeters on as well. How did you install them?

Very easy with the SSV adapters. While upgrading throw some sound deadening and polyfill in there. Made a huge difference.

hoe Did you cut the hole in the mounting bracket for the tweeter? I know the template has a hole there but the mounting bracket did not.

I am thinking of doing this as it allows me to keep the tweeter wire in tact and use both sets of wires that are already there.

My tweeters came with brackets that snapped in place and I doubled up with some epoxy adhesive. Used a 1” hole saw to make sure the hole was perfectly round.

I am getting the same speakers tomorrow and doing the same conversion. It will be JL C2-350x in the dash and JL C2-650 in the soundbar. Do you have the premium Alpine system? Also, how did you wire the SB speakers? Did you use the plug from the 3.5 or the 4? I assume the tweeter connects to the included crossover, which connects to the big speaker, then to either the 3.5 or the 4 plugs, correct?
