I'm thinking the main strap would go over the soundbar/rollbar and I'm looking for unique ways to tie down the front end on the windshield header. Bonus points for photos!
I took a piece of 1 1/2“ tubing, welded two arms on top to keep the front of my yak stable, and drilled two holes for 5” bolts. I added jam nuts, washers and wing nuts. The bolts go through the factory holes, shown in pic 3, next to the top release under the visor. I rest the middle of the yak on top of the roll bar on top of a pool noodle and strap it down with ratchet straps to the rings in the back of my Jeep and to the brush guard up front.
I drilled holes opposite the first holes to carry my sit on top yak and secure that yak with a strap crossed over the yak and under the tubing. Works well for both. The first pic is the carrier set up for my sit on top yak, but I oriented the carrier to show the bars on top. To use it in this position, the bolts would need to be through the top holes.
look at the Thule a hullavator. We have them for kayaks on our 4 door. I know you asked about a 2 door but they mount onto the crossbars and the 2 door bars should give you plenty of space between them
