Lately it seems like there is not a lot of choice if someone has to buy off the lot. It seems the 3.6 is harder to locate on lots in my area. FCA or supplier delays might be causing delivery delays for the 3.6? Or FCA is flat out pushing the 2.0 for fleet averages? I went to a high volume dealer a couple of days ago. There was not a single 3.6 out of maybe 40-50 JLs. All of them were 2.0 Turbos, every single one of them.
I did a 25 mile inventory search for JL’s and 361 Wranglers available with 186 with the 3.6. So looks like 50/50 here.

I spoke with a rep from jeep. It will continue in the JT only .
Not true it will be the only engine. The diesel is coming out soon and many Jeepers will jump away from the 2.0 and go with that engine. The mild hybrid has too many parts under the body to cause problems plus if you want the mpg and performance gains you have to use premium gas. When I ordered my 2019 I drove a 3.6 and 2.0 back to back and did not feel any significant difference so no sense to pay more upfront for the engine and every day after that.

I am in somewhat of rare position to respond in that we have in our garage right now a 3.6L pentastar in my 2015 Ram Laramie - factory ordered for this specific configuration and we also have a 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon two-door 2.0 turbo - also factory ordered for this configuration. I have to say that the pentastar based upon my experience is a GREAT motor! This two time entrant on the Ward's 10 best motor listing takes my truck from 0-60 in just over 7 seconds; has a payload rating better than if I had a hemi in my truck; has a tow rating of 7,000 lbs. (fine for me because I tow very little but do haul some heavy loads from time-to-time); gets 20-21 MPG around town and better than that on the highway; can burn 87 octane; only takes 6 quarts of oil on a change; and is naturally aspirated (preference for me in a truck). Finally I have driven this truck 92,000 miles and she runs as solid and smooth as the first day off the lot - no issues or repairs. I had a dealer installed Flowmaster dual exhaust installed before I took delivery and it sounds great - nice low rumble and not tinny. I recommend the pentastar highly as it is a solid motor with great all-around performance!

The 2.0 on the Jeep has been equally as impressive. There is certainly more technology involved with soft hybrid and the turbo (e,g, I hear the cooling pump running for awhile after it's shut off). But so far it (3,400 miles) has had no issues and it has a lot of power and straight line acceleration.
Both engined only take 5 Quarts. For the 2018 and up Wrangler anyway.

I thought this thread was about 2.0 owners having/not having regret about their purchase.....??

It is. But for some reason V6 owners have to put their 2 cents in. They feel they need to justify their boring power plant.

The 2.0L can run on 87. 91 for optimal performance.

Optimal performance like higher mileage and more torque. And those of us who responded to the ludicrous statement that the 2.0 will be the only Wrangler engine soon were just pointing out how some of the 2.0 Gore followers don't know what they are talking about.

Lol You say that like the 4 cyl is some kind of virtuoso. Without boost the 2.0 would have barely 190 hp.

That the 2.0 isnt head and shoulders better than the 3.6 . Youre bashing a pretty tried and true platform, and championing a boosted 4 cyl which has pretty similar performance .

Unlike you, I have never bashed the V6. Other than saying it is boreing just my opinion. I agree it is tried and true and a very capable engine.
I prefer Turbos, All of my vehicles are.

I have no regrets. So since this post is about that, I will stop posting here and remove any alerts for this thread.
