Ordered 2/7: 2018 JL Rubicon 2-Door - Black, 6 MT, LED, Cold Weather, Trailer Tow, Steel Bumpers, Hard Top, Headliner, and Alpine
I installed them. They provide a small step and help keep debris off the sides of the Jeep.

@dbungard do you happen to have a photo of mud/debris (or lack thereof) on the side of your Rubi with the performance rails installed? I'd really like to see this, I'm considering getting these for my 2-door Rubicon to install immediately when it arrives, I live back a long stone driveway. I'm a little hesitant given the price and not having seen how well they perform in protecting from rocks and debris.

Would love to see what kind of mud/dirt splatter you’re getting on the sides with them. I’m curious to see how well they work to protect the hinges, doors, and rear fenders from rocks.

Ditto. Thinking about buying a set, especially if they help prevent rock chips.

Going to install something on the JLUR. Kids need a step there. But those look like they may be slippy.

Yell at me if this is hijacking, but can anyone point me to an aftermarket company that makes something almost identical to these? Research tells me they are crazy priced from Jeep...like a couple grand.

JK Recon, it's about 6" wide, perf, texturized.

My Favorite!! I wish they made these for the JL.... I hope they will make something similar.

ACE also has rock sliders for the JL available that look a little better than their tube side steps. I think they function as a step, but I'm not sure how much grip they have. I'm waiting for a few more aftermarket options to be available before I decide what to put on my sport s. It would be nice to find something that functions as a step, provides some protection, and covers up the pinch seam.
Exactly. Same here.

Installation complete!! I know these pics suck but it’s dark and my garage lights are useless. Take some better pics tomorrow and give my impression.

That looks really good. I am glad to see they are not so wide. Texture- Do you slip at all? Can you post day time pics for me please? Thank you.

Hi Damon, are these by Mopar? I'm 5ft. My hubby doesn't need a step. I do. Are they slippery at all? I also have the White Rubi... Congrats on yours.

I dont find them slippy at all. Might be a couple inches high for my 5yo, but its not too bad.

I posted some pics in the granite thread. I could get some others if needed.

Hard to say if they are good height for you, but they are just atthe lowest pojnt of the rubi rails. What i like is they are narrow enough for me to step in/out over. YMMV! The sahara rails I cant step over easily so I have to step on them.

Could anyone comment on the install? Fast? Easy? One person job or no?
