Since when? Ground clearance is taken at the lowest point normally, but assuming they use any fixed point that is not the frame or body it will always only rise 1/2 the added tire height. look at a sport or sahara vs rubicon ground clearance. it is only 1" more, but 2" tire size difference. if the new recon edition gets 35" tires (actually less if a 315/70/17) it would only yield 1" more ground clearance.

Don't forget the tires are pumped to 50PSI at the factory

If this is real I think I figured out the 100:1 crawl ratio, and I doubt it will be available with the 392 (at least not without some very restrictive 4-low tuning)

4.88:1 axle, 5.13:1 manual first gear, 4:1 transfer case = 100.1376:1 crawl ratio.

Looking back, this is exactly how Ford claimed to have the best crawl ratio.

Manual crawler gear, 3:1 t-case, optional 4.7 gears

Jeep is just playing their game to take back the crown.

I continue to believe it is the number of Ford Broncos delivered. There were 40.4 on Monday; by Thursday it is now up to 47...!

Agree. I wish there was some sort of executive feedback loop to make our voices heard. Similar to how Bronco6g users bubble requests/concerns up to Mike Levine on twitter

todays Insta post features these numbers (33.6, 112.9 and 100:1) which Jalopnik reported as "Other improved numbers are ground clearance at 12.9 inches and water fording depth at 33.6 inches."

If it is really 12.9" ground clearance I would put money on that being with "optional" 37" tires. Maybe a 392 with a Raptor 37 type package just to have the ability to claim "best ground clearance". no way to get 12.9" ground clearance with 35s unless other major changes.

I will respectfully disagree. For a while I considered a new Bronco, even had a reservation and was part of the bronco6g forum. There were many things that forum members didn't like, had questions about or had other reasons to reach out and they did. Many times Ford responded. Sometimes it wasn't a change to the vehicle but clarifying information from them.

"Real time" feedback like that is more valuable than sales figures that may take months or even longer to see trends. Once they can identify a trend Jeep has to figure out why sales are down. Feedback is a gift and if there isn't a convenient platform then it could be tough for Jeep to play catchup.

Understood, but a lift does not alter ground clearance as measured officially. a Lift would change the breakover angle, but not the ground clearance.

the only thing that changes the ground clearance is larger tires, or changing the drivetrain / suspension design to alter the control arm mounting locations on the axle, the shock mounts, or the differential design to raise the center.

Ground clearance is officially measured at the lowest point of the vehicle, looking at the JLU vs JLUR you can see how the tire size change directly correlates to the ground clearance.

Jeep is known for getting feedback from the community. But when the feedback is about expanding the two-door platform or adding a 2-door truck they have to look at the market. And the market isn’t there.

i get it. I drive a manual. I can tell them All day they “should” support the manual with every drivetrain but i know it’s not gonna happen. It doesn’t make sense.
