It a good thing Iām not part of that scientific teamā¦Also, an important idea to consider even if everything is going to go "kablooey" as you say... Why worry about it? Live your life the best you can with whatever time you have.
Unless, you are part of the scientific team in charge of these fusion experiments.
Absolutely feel better now. But Iāll seriously miss my Jeep that Iāve been waiting for.If the Earth does go Kablooey, you won't know it. Neither will anyone else. No one will notice you're gone and you won't notice they're gone. Feel better now?
Sign me up! Cant wait to get some H refueling stations around MN.Hydrogen powered Jeep is what im thinking
Great movie! Meaning to watch it again lately.Your post reminds me of another movie... "I am Legend"
A scifi thriller about a future time when doctors come up with a vaccine to cure cancer and the majority of the earth's population receive it.
Only to be turned into vampire zombies because of it.
Sounds like a great movieā¦Iāll have to check it out!Pretty much the scenario in " Midnight Sky ", George Clooney.
"An Accident" totals the planet, pick Large Hadron Collider , Tokamak, God Particle, just couldn't resist pushing that Button...
I fear that Iāve taken too much time trying to think of a funny comment for you tonight. So I shall be back once I have a good one for you.Either live your life fearing maybe's and what if's or . . . live your life!
Well said. @OldGuyNewJeep for President!Lunchtime and Iām bored, so here goesā¦ not directed at OP, but to everyone who is interested in my opinion.
I think a lot of good will come from trying to reduce global warming. It will spurn great new technology, just like the space race did. Linked article about nuclear fusion is just one example.
Should China stop bringing two new coal burning operations online every week? Yes. Will the worldās reliance on their ability to produce cheap goods stop anytime soon? No. Ergo, China will keep doing what itās doing. They are now, arguably, the most powerful country in the world. They are also doing the most damage to our planet.
Recycling is a joke. Corporations have successfully marketed the problem as one that consumers can fix. They lobbied politicians, and laws were passed to allow them to do bad sh*t. Give me a break. If Nestle and Coke stopped stealing water and making plastic bottles theyād have more positive enviromental impact in a year than consumers could create in a lifetime.
My V6 Wrangler is not the problem, and ESS wonāt put a dent in fixing it.
When the industrial revolution was at its peak, many said it would be the end of all that was good. Guess what? It wasnāt. Weāre a very adaptable species. We will adapt to climate change.
I am not worried that the earth will go kablooey. I am also not in the āeverythingās fine, letās not try anything newā camp. I am firmly in the āletās not let China and corporate greed ruin the planetā camp.
We all need to employ common sense and critical thinking. Question our elected leaders. All of them. That means the ones for which we cast our ballots. Itās our duty.
Political sycophancy is a scourge. Donāt participate in identity politics.
Most Americans are in the middle. Vote in primary elections so we donāt keep getting extremists from which to choose!
CNN and Fox profit by creating division. They sensationalize to sell ads. Ditto for social media. Shameful. Donāt fall for it.
So am I. Iām very concerned OP has fallen off his rocker.I'm deeply concerned ...by threads like this one.
Not gonna lieā¦.had to Google that one.My money is on Tokamak.
Now thatās good one!Yeah. I mean, they're making good progress. But they're still a ways out.
Reminds me of a project I worked on. Our standard response to management on time estimates was "two weeks".
Manager: "How much longer before you get your task done?"
Me: "Two weeks."
Manager: "How long to port the operating system to the new board?"
Me: "Two weeks."
Manager: "When will you be back from lunch?"
Me: "Two weeks."
Manager: (trying to be clever) "You've been working this for two weeks, are you done?"
Me: "Nope, I'll be done in two weeks."
I bet youād be worried if your turbo engine quit spoolinā.Not worried at all.
Weāll be ready!Yeah, I'm sure something "unexpected" will happen. It always does with high energy physics. We may get some bangs but I'm pretty sure the radiation risk is nowhere what it is with fission. But I could be wrong.
