Hello fellow Jeep brethren.

2yr old 2018 JLU.

I'm about to schedule a service call with my dealer, but wondering if anyone else has seen a build up of moisture like this in side their radio screen? This is an 8.4" Uconnect screen. Hard top, never been left topless in the rain, etc.

Started as a small area on the top left side and has since grown to span the width of the screen. I live in Florida, so humidity is definitely a thing, but would think this is some sort of factory defect.

Would love to see if anyone else has had this issue and if you've been able to get it fixed. I assume this would be covered under the 36k mi warranty.

It doesnā€™t move like a water bubble would. It stays in place when I touch the area. You can see the difference from the first to second photo of where I pressed on the line of separation and it created those little bubbles below the line. Youā€™re right it could be a de-lamination.

100% delamination. It is not water. That's a defect in the screen and it will need to be replaced. It is absolutely covered under warranty.

@inn8ive I am having the same exact issue. I searched "water radio" and found this thread. Also, a 2 year old 2018.

Let us know what your dealer says when you get around to scheduling an appointment. I'm going to get a picture of mine up later tonight or tomorrow and will update whenever I attempt at dealer visit/repair.

Thanks for posting your issue as well.

Bump. Did anything come from this? I just noticed this morning it is doing the exact same thing on the exact same spot...top left corner.

Stopped by the dealer yesterday. He looked at it and said heā€™s seen it across the board on all models. I need to take it in for a ā€œdiagnosticā€ then they will order the parts and Iā€™ll have to leave it for a day. He also mentioned it typically does not encounter the same issue after the first replacement.

If you feel you need an additional layer of assistance please let me know. I would be happy to open a case for you. This will allow us to connect you with a Case Specialist who can work alongside your dealer. Just let us know how you plan to proceed.

Mine started in the left corner as well and progressively got worse in just 1 week. Itā€™s covered under the warranty so Iā€™m waiting for the part to arrive to have the dealership replace it! I hope it doesnā€™t continue to happen.

Yeah. They ordered the parts a week ago so Iā€™m waiting to hear from them. Iā€™m headed out of town next week so I may just wait until I get back to take it in.
